Americans Hold More Negative Views of China Than Before: Survey
The Pew Research Center has recently released the results of a survey polling Americans on their perception of China, finding that a majority of Americans hold negative views toward China, with an overall increase in the proportion of negative views over time.
The results indicated a noticeable difference in views by age group and political affiliation, with younger and/or more progressive respondents possessing relatively more favorable views.
Included in the analysis are comparisons to Chinese perceptions of America, who generally hold less negative views of the US than do their US counterparts. The results are also compared to those of other surveys, with a common negative trend found between American perceptions of US global stature and their perception of China. The opposite is true for the Chinese.
